Bernard Jules Brillstein [1] (26. travnja 1931.
Brillstein je zaradio put u show business u odjelu za poštu u agenciji William Morris (WMA) u New Yorku.
Sada živeći u Los Angelesu, Brillstein je 1969. osnovao The Brillstein Company. The Muppet Show[5] i Saturday Night Live.6
Bili su odgovorni za emisije kao što su NewsRadio, Just Shoot Me!, The Larry Sanders Show i The Sopranos. Kao izvršni producent, Brillstein je bio odgovoran za takve uspjehe kao što su The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, Dragnet, Ghostbusters II, Happy Gilmore i The Cable Guy. Brillstein je 1996. prodao svoje udjele u tvrtki Greyu, svom nekadašnjem štićeniku. Gray je prodao svoj udio u tvrtki 2005. [6]. Također je zastupao Nicka Swardsona šest godina prije njegove smrti.
Brillsteinovi memoari iz 1999., Where Did I Go Right?: You're No One in Hollywood Unless Someone Wants You Dead, napisani su u suradnji s Davidom Rensinom.[3] Dvije godine kasnije dobio je čast kao primatelj zvijezde na Hollywood Walk of Fame, 18. travnja 2001. Njegova druga knjiga The Little Stuff Matters Most, zbirka duhovitih savjeta, objavljena je 2004. [8]
In 1967, Brillstein married Laura Smith. In 1975, he married Deborah Ellen Koskoff. In 1998, Brillstein married Carrie Winston Brillstein, a marriage that lasted until his 2008 death.
Brillstein died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at a Los Angeles hospital on August 7, 2008, at the age of 77.
